Nara Normande
Nara Normande was born in Guaxuma and later moved to Recife, where a new generation of Brazilian filmmakers was about to emerge. In 2014, she co-directed a short fction film with Tião, Sem Coração, which won the Illy Prize for Best Short Film at the Directors' Fortnight. In 2018, her new short Guaxuma, co-produced with France and mixing several sand-related animation techniques, was selected at Annecy, Toronto and IDFA and won the Best Animated Short Award at SXSW.
