Two people on a bed begin a dialog, initially in French, about the word "Ersatz". What does it mean, what can it do, what does it do to two people who put it in their mouths, suck on it, taste it and chew it up? In this short onomatopoeic word game, one of the rare German words that has passed into international usage becomes the subject of a language that is still searching for itself. (Tobias Hering)
